Design and Construction

The Roue 20 design was originally commissioned by Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron members in 1921 from William Roue, arguably Nova Scotia’s most respected naval designer, as a one-design racer. Roue was asked to update the design twice and the result is a Herreshoff-like hull shape with graceful shear, long overhang, and a narrow beam . She is a good handicap racer and a classic daysailor.

  • The hull is solid hand-laid fiberglass and the deck is fibreglass with an encapsulated balsa core.

  • Full deep keel with attached rudder and lead ballast externally hung. The rudder and post were removed in 2021, refurbished and reattached.

  • Long, deep cockpit, low coach roof, deck stepped mast

  • A very attractive yacht that is extremely well balanced and fun to sail.

  • 2019 Survey completed
